Field note

The vivid yellow-green underwing with distinctive dark-ringed white spot on the hindwing, dark-edged forewing with black cell spot, and rich yellow/orange basal flush are classic Clouded Yellow features, seen here nectaring on a thistle with clubbed pink antennae characteristic of this species.
