Field note

This is a male Scorpionfly, identifiable by the distinctive banded/spotted black-and-clear wings, elongated beak-like rostrum, yellowish-black body, and the characteristic upturned red-orange bulbous genitalia at the tail end (resembling a scorpion's sting) that confirms this as a male of the species, resting on a broad green leaf.
